Our Equine Partners

Before a child learns confidence, before a veteran finds quiet, before a lesson ever begins — a horse must be cared for.

Our horses are living partners in this work. Their health, training, and well-being come first, always. Feed, farrier care, veterinary services, conditioning, and rest are ongoing responsibilities that do not pause between programs.

Horse care donations allow us to meet these needs responsibly and humanely, ensuring that every animal in our care is sound, safe, and respected. Supporting this fund means protecting the foundation of everything we do.

Ronan

2015 Draft Cross Gelding

Ronan came to be with Jamie and Vose as an 8 month old orphan. He was a malnourished foal who was purchased from an auction by someone in Oregon who then Jamie and Vose purchased from them.

He's come with a naturally level head since the beginning and quickly became Mr Reliable at a young age. He is a calm and mellow gelding who has traveled hundreds of trail miles between our mountains in Northern California along with Wyoming and Idaho.

Digger

2011 John Mule

Digger Mule came all he way from Texas and landed himself in an auction. Flying O purchased him to find his price was so low because he had a crooked hoof. After months of hoof care and Rehab trims, Vose learned a lot, and we had a perfectly good using mule. He has been a great pack mule and has been a part of the string since 2016. He is great with kids and will be traveling to Bishop, CA when we go.

Daisy May

2021 Molly Mule

Daisy May is a Flying O Outfitter mule who is learning the ropes of her job since 2024. She's a young mule bred in Wyoming who has found her way to the mountains of California. She's a stocky and strong-bred mule that we guess is half Halflinger. We are excited to present her to the program as a mule that all ages can learn from, as she is young and still learning, herself.
